Gut Friendly, Balanced Electrolyte Support
Unlike many traditional electrolyte formulas, Ultra ElectroS is gut friendly, with prebiotic fibres and B vitamins included to support recovery time, digestive health and overall well-being.
When your horse sweats, they don’t just lose water. They lose vital electrolytes that are essential for hydration, muscle function and optimal recovery.
Equell Ultra ElectroS™ provides a palatable, carefully balanced blend of sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium to help maintain normal fluid balance and support optimal muscle function during exercise, warm weather, travel or any period of increased sweating.
Formulated to encourage drinking and support efficient rehydration, Ultra ElectroS also includes added functional nutrients to aid post-exercise recovery, making it ideal for competition horses, regular training programmes or hot summer months when demands increase.
Why Choose Ultra ElectroS?
- Encourages hydration and supports normal fluid balance
- Provides key electrolytes for optimal muscle function
- Gut friendly formulation including prebiotic fibres and B vitamins
- Contains Taurine to support recovery
- Highly palatable and easy to mix with water or feed
When to Use
- During intense training or competition
- In warm weather or humid conditions
- After heavy sweating
- During travel
- For horses reluctant to drink
Feed daily for optimum results, as electrolyte levels can become depleted during weeks of hard training and this can take a long time to restore to normal levels if you only feed electrolytes after competition. Mix with feed, splitting daily rate between AM and PM feeds for best results.
FAQ's:
Do horses need electrolytes after exercise?
Horses that sweat during training or competition lose electrolytes through sweat. A horse in moderate work can lose 50–70 g of electrolytes per hour through sweat - largely sodium and chloride – which is why replacing these salts is important for hydration, recovery and normal muscle function.
How do electrolytes help horses?
Electrolytes help maintain fluid balance, support hydration and replace salts lost during sweating. These key minerals are essential for normal muscle function and UltraElectroS has added prebiotic fibres and B vitamins for gut health and recovery.
When should I give my horse electrolytes?
Electrolytes are commonly fed during periods of increased sweating, including hot weather, travel and competition but for optimal results they should be fed in the run up to periods of increased exercise or sweating to help avoid mineral depletion.
Can I feed electrolytes to horses with ulcers?
The question “are electrolytes bad for horses with ulcers” or can electrolytes cause ulcers in horses stems from a study on endurance horses where almost half a kilogram of electrolytes were given orally, in water over an 8 hour period. This is very different to the supplementation of normal levels of electrolytes within horse’s feed, ideally split between their daily rations which is unlikely to cause issue for a healthy horse. If your horse is undergoing current treatment for ulcers or you are unsure – always check with your vet before feeding.
The Equell Difference
At Equell, we prioritise balanced formulations that support both performance and long-term health. Hydration is fundamental to your horse’s optimal performance, recovery and overall well-being. Ultra ElectroS delivers effective electrolyte replenishment without compromising digestive comfort by including essential B vitamins and prebiotic fibres for the hindgut.
